About The Position

Lerners is seeking a Law Clerk to support the Personal Injury Group. The ideal candidate will have over three (3) years of experience working in a similar position. This is a Hybrid position and requires a minimum of three (3) days per week in office. Lerners provides a full range of legal services throughout Southwestern Ontario. Requirements

At least three years of experience as a litigation Law Clerk
Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent education and experience
Experience in Personal Injury is strongly preferred
A keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
A strong work ethic
The ability to work effectively on a team and individually
Excellent communication skills
Experience with technology and working in a hybrid environment

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Primafact, Document Management Systems and OneDrive is an asset

Responsibilities

General management of personal injury files for both tort and accident benefit claims
Acting as liaison between the team and clients
Drafting correspondence, applications, and court documents; analyzing medical and other records (including preparing medical chronologies and identifying issues); managing client productions and undertakings; liaising with insurance adjusters; gathering and organizing evidence; and preparing files for review, service, and overall progression of claims
Preparing trial and other hearing-related documentation
Maintaining an effective Bring Forward (BF) system
Managing and organizing files
Independently applying approved AI tools to improve efficiency and quality of work, exercising judgment in determining appropriate use cases, and ensuring outputs meet professional standards before use or distribution
Other duties as required
