About The Position

The J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University (BYU Law) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Member to teach a course on trademark skills. This course is designed to provide students with practical skills relevant to a trademark prosecution legal practice and will serve as a prerequisite for the BYU Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Students are expected to have completed or be concurrently enrolled in the trademark doctrinal course. The role involves teaching the course, being available outside of class for student questions, and determining teaching time based on the applicant's schedule. The adjunct faculty member will not be required to attend department meetings.

Requirements

  • JD required, completed by the start date.
  • Must be an active member of the Utah Bar.
  • Knowledge of the topic.
  • Significant teaching experience.
  • Attach updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement to the faculty application.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a course on trademark skills, providing students the opportunity to develop skills used in a trademark prosecution legal practice.
  • Address questions related to the class outside of scheduled teaching times.
  • Determine time taught based on applicant's schedule.
