Summer Temporary - Laundry Material Handler
About The Position
This is a summer temporary position anticipated to work through Mid-End August. The role involves performing a variety of routine laundry duties, such as stocking shelving, transporting cleaned and soiled linens throughout the facility, providing linen distribution in pre-designated areas, and other assigned duties. This position is part of the nation’s AbilityOne Program, which focuses on providing employment for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. The program requires that 75% of the services provided are completed by individuals who meet these requirements. The company promotes a Safe & Drug-free Workplace and participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good attention to detail in seeing torn or stained linens
- Ability to communicate properly and work with persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to see stains and torn linens
- Must be able to work some weekends and designated holidays
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner conducive to a productive work environment
