About The Position

This position is responsible for washing, drying, and folding housekeeping linen and terry. The role requires flexibility to assist in other departments when needed and maintaining a courteous, positive, and helpful demeanor towards guests and colleagues. Professionalism in demeanor and appearance is expected at all times.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills.
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible hours.
Willingness to comply with hotel’s policy and procedures regarding attendance and attire.
Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as, but not limited to, a vacuum.
Ability to properly and safely use chemicals.

Responsibilities

Sort, wash, fold, and deliver linen to housekeeping closets.
Fold linen to hotel standard with minimal wrinkles.
Operate hotel rotary iron for linen with safety and precaution.
Maintain cleanliness of washing machines and dryers, including cleaning lint traps and drains.
Monitor linen for stains and wear and tear, following proper procedure for reclaim.
Collect dirty linen from attendants, guest rooms, and housekeeping carts if needed.
Report any malfunction of washers and dryers to Housekeeping Management.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and storage laundry room.
Remove any accumulated trash in the laundry room.
Assist with deep cleaning projects and cleanliness of employee areas, such as the breakroom, locker rooms, and employee hallways.
Provide professional, courteous, and respectful guest service in a timely manner.
