About The Position

The Laundry/Linen Attendant is responsible for processing and distributing all linens for hospital and clinic locations, ensuring an adequate supply. The Attendant will monitor linens for need of spot treatments and keep a daily log of distribution and a poundage record of materials taken out of service. The role also involves keeping the work area clean and clear of safety hazards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sorting, weighing laundry, loading washers, unloading washers, loading dryers, unloading dryers, folding of clean laundry and putting on transport cart.
• Inventory unused linen in all areas and bring each item up to daily quota. Each item is to be logged on a daily sheet and then logged into computer.
• Record linen taken out of service.
• Treatment of stain laundry.
• Changing out exchange carts, restocking them and bringing them up to quota.
• Transporting linen from laundry to linen room and placing on shelves.
• Notifying maintenance to replenish laundry chemical.
• Cleaning the linen room and equipment, sweeping dryers out, and disinfecting laundry carts and tables.
• Sweeping and mopping the floor.
• Cleaning over head lights and pipes.
• Emptying trash.
• Answering phone and pages.
• Supplying extra linen when necessary.
