About The Position

The Laundry Fleet Manager will oversee the full laundry transportation fleet, including single- and dual-axle tractors, trailers, box trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment. This role also manages the team of drivers responsible for all delivery operations. The position requires a strong understanding of commercial fleet equipment, route scheduling, and regulatory requirements from various agencies. The manager will also oversee a team of union-represented drivers, manage schedules, ensure inspections are conducted, and administer the drug testing program.

Requirements

  • Extensive vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial fleet equipment (single and dual axle tractors, trailers, box trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for the fleet.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling routes and deliveries to 11 or more properties in Southern Nevada daily.
  • Strong computer skills and software knowledge (MS products including Excel).
  • Ability to use electronic MMS work order systems and company-specific programs.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements from OSHA, DOT, City of North Las Vegas, SNHD, EPA, NRS, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and similar regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to use small hand tools to perform various small repairs to trailers.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work practices with a solid understanding of safety requirements when working with commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to manage the random drug testing program.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in all email correspondence.
  • Ability to hit deadlines and complete job tasks without direct monitoring or oversight.
  • Ability to handle tools, supplies and equipment exceeding 50lbs, utilizing tool assistance as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to obtain a Class A CDL driver license with a "T" endorsement.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Must be Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full laundry transportation fleet, including single- and dual-axle tractors, trailers, box trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Manage the team of drivers responsible for all delivery operations.
  • Facilitate equipment training to ensure team members meet safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and malfunctions with the fleet, performing minor repairs or outsourcing as necessary.
  • Schedule routes and deliveries to multiple properties daily, ensuring staff are assigned to meet demands.
  • Utilize electronic MMS work order systems and company-specific programs.
  • Observe and practice all safety requirements of the Department of Transportation and other applicable regulating agencies.
  • Understand regulatory requirements from OSHA, DOT, City of North Las Vegas, SNHD, EPA, NRS, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and similar agencies.
  • Perform various small repairs to trailers used for transport using small hand tools.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices when working with commercial vehicles.
  • Oversee the team of union-represented delivery drivers, manage schedules, establish routine PM scheduling, and ensure daily and weekly inspections are conducted.
  • Manage the random drug testing program for commercially licensed drivers.
  • Participate in all company-provided safety training and follow required safety guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally in all email correspondence.
  • Hit deadlines and complete job tasks without direct monitoring or oversight.
  • Oversee and delegate supervisory and lead-level team members in their daily job duties and assignments.
  • Mentor and develop entry-level positions.
  • Support team compliance with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Issue discipline for violations of procedures.
  • Interview potential candidates for delivery driver positions.
  • Drive vehicles personally for movement around the property or to perform troubleshooting.
