About The Position

The Laundry Attendant joins the Housekeeping team at Marriott Short Pump in Glen Allen, Virginia, helping keep hotel operations running smoothly and ensuring guests have fresh linens and clean towels. The role processes and organizes laundry, maintains supplies and clean work areas, distributes linens to hotel departments, and supports guest requests. The position is a full-time opportunity.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and equipment usage.
• Understanding of safe chemical-handling practices.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels and safely around cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and laundry equipment.
• Reliability, punctuality, attention to detail, organization, teamwork, safety consciousness, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to providing exceptional guest service.

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft Office experience.
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience.
• Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Sort linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items by color, size, and fabric type.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, folding equipment, and pressing machines.
• Fold, press, package, and prepare clean laundry for use throughout the hotel.
• Follow proper sanitization and laundry-processing procedures.
• Load and unload commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain adequate supplies of detergent, bleach, fabric softener, laundry bags, and other essentials.
• Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and fully operational.
• Assist with stocking storage rooms and linen areas.
• Distribute linens to designated hotel departments.
• Deliver guest-requested items such as towels, cribs, and rollaway beds as needed.
• Maintain positive guest interactions and confidentiality.
• Respond professionally to guest concerns and requests.
• Help ensure clean linens are readily available to support hotel operations.
