About The Position

The Laundry Attendant processes soiled linen and distributes clean linen in accordance with standard operating procedures and in a safe, accident-free manner. The role involves receiving, sorting, and weighing soiled linen; operating industrial laundry equipment; inspecting finished products for quality; fulfilling guest requests; and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The Laundry Attendant also reports equipment problems, supply needs, damaged linens, and hazards to a supervisor.

Requirements

Some high school education or equivalent experience.
No formal experience is required.
Ability to recognize and work with numbers.
Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
Ability to communicate information, respond to questions, and provide directions and hotel services to guests, vendors, staff members, and management.
Ability to stand continuously as needed and lift, pull, push, bend, and move items.

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and weigh soiled linen and place it into appropriate containers.
Process sorted linen using washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders; inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Turn in articles found in the Laundry Chute or Department to the Supervisor for Lost and Found logging.
Fulfill guest requests and handle guest problems or complaints to achieve guest satisfaction.
Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment and mechanical problems to the Supervisor.
Notify the Supervisor of needed supplies, damaged linens, or hazards to support an efficient laundry operation.
Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
