About The Position

Provides laundry services to lodging operations with the NEXCOM Hospitality Group. Sorts, washes, dries, folds, bundles, wraps, and issues linen in accordance with established instructions and supervisor direction. The attendant may also perform housekeeping attendant or public spaces attendant duties when needed to cover staff shortages or other unanticipated occurrences. The position is part-time and requires maintaining guest security and privacy.

Requirements

• No experience is required.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• A valid state driver's license may be required to travel to other lodging facilities within the normal scope of duties.
• Ability to perform considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor, including unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Wear provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May be designated as ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or national security and required to report to work when other employees are excused.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, bundle, wrap, and issue linen according to instructions and supervisor direction.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and ironing presses, taking care to prevent staining, over-bleaching, and over-starching.
• Load and unload laundry and handle laundry chemicals by hand or with carts, dollies, hand trucks, golf carts, or similar devices as needed.
• Follow manufacturer and supervisor directions for equipment and chemical use.
• Clean filters and equipment and notify a supervisor of malfunctions.
• Inventory laundry, identify missing or damaged items, maintain inventory records, document damage, and request replacements to maintain management-set par standards.
• Pick up and deliver laundry to multiple facilities as needed.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and empty trash to keep laundry facilities and linen storage areas clean.
• Maintain daily and monthly records of work performed.
• Perform housekeeping attendant or public spaces attendant duties as needed to cover staffing shortages or other unanticipated occurrences.
• Maintain the security and privacy of guests.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
