About The Position

The Laundry Attendant processes soiled linen and distributes clean linen according to standard operating procedures, working safely and as assigned by management. The role receives, sorts, and weighs linen; operates industrial laundry equipment; inspects finished products for quality; responds to guest requests and concerns; and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient laundry operation. The attendant reports equipment issues, supply needs, damaged linen, and hazards to a supervisor, and turns in found items for Lost and Found logging. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

Some high school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to recognize and work with numbers.
Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
Ability to communicate information, respond to questions, and provide directions and hotel services to guests, vendors, staff members, and management.

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and weigh soiled linen and place it into appropriate containers.
Process sorted linen using washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders.
Inspect finished linen to ensure it meets quality standards.
Turn in articles found in the laundry chute or department to the Supervisor for Lost and Found logging.
Fulfill guest requests and handle guest problems or complaints to achieve guest satisfaction.
Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment and mechanical problems to the Supervisor.
Notify the Supervisor about needed supplies, damaged linens, or department hazards.
Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
