About The Position
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining the condition of all hotel linen in accordance with the standards of Sunridge through efficient cleaning and processing. This role involves meeting and exceeding customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork, and offering value-added service by doing whatever is reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations. The attendant must communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors, and demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed. They must also meet Sunridge service standards and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to sort laundry by fabric type, color, item, or soil concentration.
- Ability to pull damaged and/or stained linen.
- Ability to load washers and dryers to recommended weights.
- Ability to set dryers for proper heating and cooling times.
- Ability to operate, maintain, and clean laundry equipment.
- Ability to inform supervisor or management of mechanical failures or supply shortages.
- Ability to fold all linen.
- Adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Punctuality and adherence to scheduled work times.
- Adherence to hotel grooming and dress standards.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
- Ability to keep supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters.
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to maintain a favorable working relationship with co-workers.
- Ability to project a favorable image of the company and hotel.
- Ability to achieve required threshold scores according to brand and Sunridge inspections.
Responsibilities
- Ensures maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color, item or soil concentration.
- Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers.
- Ensures maximum loading capacity of machines.
- Loads washers and dryers to recommended weights.
- Saves energy by setting dryers for proper heating and cooling times.
- Places only proper linens in the dryer to be dried.
- Operates, maintains and cleans laundry equipment according to Sunridge standards.
- Informs supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implemented.
- Folds all linen to closets and storage areas.
- Adheres to hotel policies and procedures.
- Attends work on time as scheduled.
- Follows hotel grooming and dress standards.
- Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- At all times projects a favorable image of Sunridge and the hotel to the public.
- Performs such other ancillary and related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
- Must achieve required threshold scores according to brand and Sunridge inspections.
