About The Position

A Laundry Attendant sorts, washes and folds laundry as needed by their facility. They also help remove stains from items with appropriate procedures as needed. In a story of entrepreneurial spirit and partnership, P.C. Amin and his brother-in-law B.N. Shah embarked on a remarkable venture in 1978. Requirements

High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Laundry attendant experience preferred
Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
Experience with Hotel Brand systems preferred.
Customer Service Skills required.
Prioritization and time management skills required.
Working quickly without compromising quality.
Must have a strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
Turn the valve to fill the washer with water.
Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into wringers and dryers for measured time cycles.
Sorts dried articles according to identification number or type.
Folds and places items in appropriate storage bins.
Irons all table linens.
Lubricates machines, using grease gun and oilcan.
Ensures cleanliness of equipment.
May dissolve soap granules in hot water and steam to make liquid soap.
May mend torn articles using needle and thread.
May sort and count articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
May soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solution in vat to precondition for washing.
May mix dyes and bleaches according to formula, and dye and bleach specified articles.
Abides by the regulations of the material safety data sheet when using chemicals.
Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
Performs other related duties as required.
