About The Position

The Element by Westin Calgary Downtown is seeking a reliable and efficient Laundry Attendant. This role is responsible for the washing, drying, and folding of all terry and linens for the hotel, adhering to brand and company standards. The hotel is focused on the wellness of its guests and associates, offering features like an extensive fitness center, healthy breakfast options, and a Bikes to Borrow program. It is a pet-friendly hotel with suites featuring fully equipped kitchens, a relaxed lobby café, and a signature restaurant and lounge with a rooftop patio.

Requirements

Minimum of one year of experience in a similar operation or hotel environment.
Good communication skills, proficient in the English language.
A positive attitude.
Places priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and guest loyalty.
Able to work with a variety of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
Good understanding of WHMIS.
Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
Physically able to bend, lift, push, crouch, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Able to lift or carry up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike.
Wash, dry and fold all hotel linens and towels.
Properly use all soaps, chemicals, and equipment for cleaning linen and towels.
Clean laundry equipment, vent screens, drain traps and lint filters.
Maintain and rotate a supply of clean linen and towels.
Assist in the monthly linen and towel inventory.
Keep the laundry area and storage areas clean and organized.
Expedite the delivery of linen and requested suite items to the Room Attendants.
Clean rooms when needed or as requested.
Accommodate guest special requests courteously.
Notify Manager of any problems with linens or equipment.
Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
Practice safety standards at all times, leading by example.
