The Laundry Attendant processes, washes, dries, irons and folds linens and other items in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations. This role promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
Knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care.
Attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues.
Basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags.
Commitment to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50lbs.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures.
Handle laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding tables, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing stains, tears, or other issues as needed.
Follow specific instructions for handling delicate fabrics or special items to prevent damage.
Maintain an organized inventory of clean and ready-to-use linens and towels to meet the demands of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel departments.
Keep track of linen counts, reorder levels, and replenishment schedules.
Clean and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
Follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery.
Coordinate with housekeepers, Housekeeping Housepersons, and other hotel departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and towels for guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces.
