About The Position

An employee in this position performs laundry functions in a laundry facility, including operating equipment and folding linen. The work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Director of Vocational Services or designee. Hours are 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. for the truck route or 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. for operational job duties.

Requirements

• Have a positive attitude and be reliable.
• Show initiative and work as part of a team.
• Complete a successful background check.
• Be able to feed and catch linens through the mangle.
• Be able to lift up to 20 pounds and bend, reach, and grasp items.
• Be able to use the wrap equipment.

Responsibilities

• Separate linen by like items.
• Follow the correct folding procedure for linen items.
• Stack items neatly in designated quantities and/or on designated shelves.
• Wrap items in plastic wrap and write the proper documentation on the outside.
• Sort items according to location.
• Count items.
• Feed and catch linen through the mangle.
• Check items for stains while folding and place stained items in the rewash bin.
• Clean as needed, including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, spot mopping, and wiping down work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
