About The Position

Focused Post Acute Care Partners is seeking a Laundry Aide to perform laundry duties involving resident clothing, linens, and related items. The role includes collecting, sorting, washing, drying, and distributing laundry while maintaining a clean and safe work area and following facility policies, safety precautions, and infection control procedures. The schedule is assigned and may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. This is a non-exempt position.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and tolerate exposure to chemical fumes, dust, and pet dander.
Ability to safely push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, and reach, including lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Responsibilities

Collect soiled linen and clothing.
Assist with sorting soiled articles.
Wash and dry soiled articles sent to the laundry.
Transfer clean linens and distribute them to wings according to predetermined daily needs.
Assist with labeling residents’ clothing as needed.
Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and safe manner.
Report defective equipment or needed repairs.
Maintain working knowledge of laundry policies and procedures.
Follow infection control practices and coordinate isolation procedures when necessary.
Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or charge nurse.
Attend staff education, training, and other meetings.
Maintain professional conduct while interacting with residents.
Follow facility policies and procedures, including those concerning resident rights, infection control, and dignity.
