About The Position
Elmora Hills Healthcare located in Elizabeth NJ, is seeking to hire a PT Laundry Aide to join our team! We are seeking a dependable Laundry Aide to join our nursing home team. This position is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident clothing and facility linens while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laundry environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be dependable, organized, and detail oriented.
- Ability to push/pull laundry carts and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold resident clothing and facility linens.
- Distribute clean laundry to residents and designated areas.
- Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry department.
- Report damaged linens, equipment issues, or supply needs to the supervisor.
- Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
- Provide courteous service to residents, families, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
