We are seeking a Laser Engineer II to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts.

Requirements

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering/physics or other relevant engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in process development and/or laser processing.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical device manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Are passionate working with integrated, complex technologies and machines
  • Are experienced with CAM programming and development.
  • Have laser processing experience.
  • Have a strong background in SolidWorks.
  • Possess strong communication skills – both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, be responsible for laser and mechanical process development (from proof-of-concept prototypes to sustained manufacturing validation)
  • Plan and coordinate engineering activities, studies, and programs in support of standard production and new product development.
  • Handle process implementation for applications such as laser cutting, laser welding, and deburring small medical components.
  • Be responsible for laser cutting and welding process development, including motion programming, optical alignment, parameter development and optimization, troubleshooting
  • Generate documentation for process implementation including Operating procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, manufacturing software, etc.
  • Support and provide equipment guidelines and tooling modifications for process improvements.
  • Generate models/drawings to support process development
  • Support company-wide and internal cost-improvement projects, specifically for the laser processing group
  • Follow health, safety and environmental programs for preventative maintenance – adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that all hazards are properly managed.
