About The Position

The Laser Operator operates laser-based equipment to produce products and parts and perform tests. The role works in a fast-paced environment and includes setting up, maintaining, and operating the machine while ensuring quality and workplace safety. This is an on-site position in Aurora, Ohio, on the weekend shift.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience operating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or prints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers.
• Ability to understand machine programs.
• Ability to modify machine programs.
• Ability to use a PC for basic editing and logging.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automation.
• Experience or knowledge of laser machines.
• Technical training or certification in CNC machining.

Responsibilities

• Handle sheet metal production using a laser/punch combination machine, including producing blanks.
• Load and unload the machine.
• Work with production engineering to retrieve nested programs for production.
• Separate, label, and catalog completed parts when unloading.
• Perform daily machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Clean the machine at the end of each day and clean the surrounding floor area.
• Maintain tools and lenses regularly.
• Manage assist gas and schedule replenishment when the spare bank is used.
• Catalog and shelve remnants.
• Inspect parts and materials for quality.
