About The Position

The Laser Operator operates laser-based equipment to produce parts and products and perform tests. In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the operator sets up, maintains, and runs a laser/punch combination machine while ensuring product quality and workplace safety. This is an on-site position in Aurora, Ohio, on the weekend shift. The starting pay is $26, including shift differential pay.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience operating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers.
• Ability to understand and modify machine programs.
• Ability to use a PC for basic editing and logging.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Technical training or certification in CNC machining.
• Experience with automation.
• Experience with or knowledge of laser machines.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of sheet metal production using a laser/punch combination machine.
• Produce blanks and load and unload the machine.
• Work with production engineering to retrieve nested programs for production.
• Separate, label, and catalog completed parts after unloading.
• Perform daily machine start-up and shut-down procedures.
• Clean the machine at the end of each day and clean the surrounding floor area.
• Maintain tools and lenses regularly.
• Manage assist gas and schedule replenishment when the spare bank is used.
• Catalog and shelve remnants.
• Inspect parts and materials for quality.
