About The Position

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC laser machines for metal fabrication. This role requires knowledge of CNC laser operation, including program retrieval, proper gases, nozzles, and lenses. The operator will also perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery. Additionally, the position involves setting up metal fabrication machinery, ensuring "0 defect" parts, checking accuracy with blueprints and precision measuring tools, and accurately completing work orders. The role requires working a regular schedule, typically Monday through Thursday from 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM, with weekends off.

Requirements

High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required.
Ability to use Direct read measuring devices required.
Ability to properly document paperwork.
Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently.
Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication process and concepts.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, fabrication management and/or operations of low and mid-sized volume metal fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

Setup and operate CNC laser machine
Perform knowledge and hands-on operation of CNC laser for metal fabrication including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, lenses, etc.
Provide routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs to CNC laser machine.
Setup metal fabrication machinery and other production necessities to produce "0 defect" parts.
Check accuracy of work using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
Accurately complete work orders with correct quantities of good and defective parts.
Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
