About The Position
NIC Global is seeking a Laser Operator for the 2nd shift. This role involves operating CNC laser cutting machines and other production machinery, understanding different material types and gauges, performing regular machine maintenance, and programming/editing machine consoles. The operator will work with team members to maximize productivity, adhere to safety and quality standards, and uphold ISO and OSHA standards. This is a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Requirements
- Machine operation experience strongly desired
- Requires the ability to program, download, and edit console as required.
- Ability to verify the measurement of cut materials.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Must have good communication, organizational, and cross-training skills.
- Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and Brass.
Responsibilities
- Operates the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process or assists other machine operators.
- Has an understanding of laser machine operation, differences between cutting various alloys, and gauge of material.
- Performs regular maintenance on the machine.
- Programs, downloads, and edits console as required.
- Verifies the measurement of cut materials.
- Works with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Works in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
- Follows all safety rules and quality standards.
- Follows all company rules and policies.
- Upholds all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
