Requirements

  • Over 1 and up to 3 years of previous qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Use decimals, fractions and other ordinary arithmetic.
  • Requires interpretation to adhere to requirements.
  • Must have basic knowledge of shop math.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Nice To Haves

  • Trumpf Laser experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties required to program, setup and operate laser type cutting equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, fixture requirements, tapes, charts, specifications, verbal and written instructions.
  • Determine layout and program starting point on blueprint for the piece.
  • Make necessary adjustments to gas and valve settings according to material type and thickness.
  • Take care to set laser controls to avoid collisions of head with material.
  • Maintain gas pressure to ensure cut/edge surface quality.
  • Review setup to prove accuracy and make trial first piece run to support print specifications.
  • Perform necessary maintenance such as lens alignment, cleaning and replacing mirror, sensor, gas bottles, etc.; maintain lubricant levels.
  • Maintain log of parts and programs.
  • Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
