About The Position

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking a part-time Laser Machine Operator for its East Chicago, Indiana facility. The operator will run a Trumpf steel-cutting CNC laser machine according to blueprints and specifications, handle steel plates, and support production through equipment care and parts organization. This is an in-person, hands-on role on an afternoon schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The stated wage is $22.55 per hour. Requirements

• At least 2–5 years of experience operating machines.
• Mechanical aptitude, including skill using hand tools and instruments.
• Ability to organize assigned tasks for completion independently or with assistance.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating multiple machines at once.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and cross-train.
• Ability to troubleshoot alarms and understand the technical aspects of the machine.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Trumpf laser-cutting machine according to blueprints and specifications.
• Lift and handle steel plates using an overhead crane, clamps, and magnets.
• Clean and maintain department equipment.
• Label and organize parts to meet production standards.
• Maintain equipment and preventive-maintenance schedule logs.
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.
