Laser Machine Operator Part Time
About The Position
The Laser Machine Operator operates a Trumpf steel-cutting CNC machine according to blueprints and specifications, working with a team to achieve shared production goals. The role is based in person at the East Chicago, Indiana facility and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Responsibilities include operating the laser cutting machine; lifting and handling steel plates with an overhead crane, clamps, and magnets; cleaning and maintaining department equipment; labeling and organizing parts to production standards; and maintaining equipment and preventive-maintenance schedule logs.
Requirements
- At least 2–5 years of experience operating machines.
- Mechanical aptitude, including skill using hand tools and instruments.
- Ability to organize assigned tasks and complete them independently or with assistance.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

- Experience operating multiple machines at once.

- Ability to troubleshoot alarms and understand the technical aspects of the machine.
