About The Position

The Laser Machine Operator is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprint specifications to determine procedures and operational sequence. This role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating equipment with limited supervision, as well as using various hand and power tools for adjustments. The operator will utilize precision measuring devices to set up, adjust, and verify product specifications. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting operating, material, and tooling issues, performing general preventive maintenance, guiding assisting personnel, completing required documentation, and adhering to cleanup, housekeeping, quality, safety, and sanitation regulations. The role also requires meeting department work hour requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills with employees throughout the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above the shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot operating, material, and tooling problems.
  • Perform general preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Guide assisting personnel on correct procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation and paperwork for finished processes.
  • Follow all cleanup and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Meet the required work hours of the department.
