The Public Affairs division, within which the Language Access Unit operates, focuses on promoting the agency's role in fostering a fairer and more open democracy. The Language Access Unit specifically ensures meaningful language access for voters, candidates, and contributors by providing translation, localization, interpretation, ASL, and CART services, and leading the agency's language access strategy and compliance efforts. The Language Services Coordinator, reporting to the Language Services Manager, will be instrumental in supporting the agency's mission by coordinating and delivering language services, maintaining systems and resources, and contributing to programmatic goals. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant language services for New Yorkers who speak languages other than English.
