About The Position
The Language Arts Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in reading, writing, and literature. This role focuses on developing students’ literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills through a structured and interactive learning environment.
Requirements
- Valid South Carolina Department of Education (SC DOE) License with Language Arts Endorsement required
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field preferred
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Strong organizational and lesson planning skills
Responsibilities
- Teach reading comprehension and literacy skills
- Instruct students in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
- Develop students’ writing abilities through essays, reports, and creative assignments
- Teach literature, including novels, short stories, poetry, and nonfiction texts
- Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of texts
- Facilitate classroom discussions, presentations, and speaking activities
