This position serves as the Dauphin County Court language access coordinator, which includes responsibility for managing the Dauphin County Interpreter Program. The employee receives and processes requests for interpreters for all court hearings and proceedings, including MDJ hearings, Common Pleas Court hearings, custody conferences, divorce master proceedings, Protection from Abuse hearings, and juvenile court proceedings. The employee contacts AOPC-approved interpreters to assign to cases, manages the Interpreter calendar, corresponds effectively with Judges, their staff, and attorneys to ensure an up-to-date status of any proceeding involving an interpreter, maintains the AOPC Interpreter Database for effective recordkeeping and report generation, and verifies the accuracy of all invoices before they are submitted for payment.
