About The Position

The Landside Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company-owned equipment and vehicles used in landside operations. This role ensures all equipment is safe, reliable, and operating efficiently to support daily operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
2+ years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment or diesel engines.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred (or ability to obtain).

Nice To Haves

Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and support machinery (e.g., loaders, forklifts, service vehicles).
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete required service documentation.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
Collaborate with operations personnel to identify equipment concerns and prioritize repairs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with equipment inspections and regulatory compliance requirements.
