About The Position

The Landscaping Manager is pivotal in the creation and maintenance of campus outdoor spaces that enhance property aesthetics and functionality. This position requires a unique blend of creativity, strong leadership skills, and practical landscaping knowledge. The Landscaping Manager oversees a team of landscapers, ensuring that landscaping projects meet the highest standards and are completed on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of trees and shrubs for zones is required.
  • Experience with natural pruning and sheering is required.
  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background and MVR check.
  • Knowledge of plants, hardscape, masonry, carpentry, excavating, grading, drainage and snow removal.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to help with production, scheduling and routing.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior commercial landscape experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant diseases and insects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the scheduling of work routes to ensure all clients are serviced in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and assists with the maintenance of client property, which includes mulching, shrub pruning, and weed and debris control of flower beds.
  • Supervises seasonal annual planting and designing of annual flower beds.
  • Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls.
  • Maintains and repairs tools, equipment and structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand or power tools.
  • Supervises landscape crew members to ensure proper completion of tasks.
  • Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters and other ground features.
  • Develops and maintains excellent customer service with current and potential clients.
  • Assists with snow removal when necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
