About The Position

THE LANDSCAPER CONTRIBUTES DIRECTLY TO A POSITIVE GUEST EXPERIENCE BY HELPING TO PROVIDE A CLEAN AND SAFE RESORT FOR OUR GUESTS AT OUR JAMAICA BAY PROPERTY.

Requirements

Skilled in landscaping and property maintenance
Superior customer service skills
Ability to effectively train and engage team members
Ability to function well in a high pace, sometimes high stress environment
Comfortable effectively communicating with all levels of guests and staff
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be able to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time

Responsibilities

Walk property daily
Planting of shrubs, trees and other plants
Assisting with installation and maintenance of hardscapes
General cleaning of landscapes
Operate power driven equipment in accordance with existing safety procedures to include wearing the proper protective equipment needed to perform the job safety
Safely operate and perform general maintenance on all necessary equipment such as a blower, redmax, weedwhip, bed edger, chainsaw
Mows grass, trims trees and shrubs, fertilizes lawns, plants materials, irrigates lawns, and aerates plant areas
Distribute proper fertilizers, insecticides, and organic materials
Removes weeds and transplants trees and plant material
Grades and plants when necessary
Mulching: Loading, unloading, and spreading mulch in plant beds
Raking and Sweeping: Using hand rake to gather materials
Forceful pulling and pushing, and lifting of debris
Weeding: Manually pull weeds from planting beds
Inspects equipment and validates that it is properly maintained and serviced
Promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions, breaks or misuse of safety guidelines
Loading and unloading of equipment, equipment trailering and transportation of crews
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the team
