About The Position

Grey Barn is seeking a hands-on Landscape Production & Design Expert with deep landscaping knowledge to help build a best-in-class commercial landscaping operation in Northwest Arkansas. This role requires someone who can evaluate properties, design practical landscape solutions, estimate and sell projects, and train crews on best practices. You will work closely with operations, sales, and field teams to improve design, sales, installation, and maintenance processes. This is a leadership position focused on field execution and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional landscaping experience
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of landscape maintenance
  • Experience with landscape installation
  • Experience designing or laying out landscape projects
  • Experience estimating landscaping work
  • Experience leading or training landscaping employees
  • Strong understanding of plants, turf, beds and landscape materials
  • Ability to identify common landscape problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to communicate professionally with commercial customers
  • Comfort selling recommended work
  • Ability to manage several projects or properties at the same time
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors and physically participate in landscaping work when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate properties and create practical landscape solutions including renovations, plant and bed design, tree and shrub selection, turf and grass management, mulch and rock installations, drainage improvements, seasonal color, bed cleanup and restoration, property enhancement projects, and landscape installation and replacement projects.
  • Meet with customers, identify enhancement opportunities, develop scopes of work, estimate labor, materials, and equipment, present recommendations, help close projects, and ensure sold work can be produced profitably.
  • Train employees on landscaping best practices, create repeatable installation and maintenance processes, demonstrate proper techniques, help crews diagnose landscaping problems, inspect completed work, correct quality issues, develop SOPs and training materials, improve productivity and job costing, and help develop crew leaders.
  • Take years of landscaping knowledge and teach it to other people in a simple, repeatable way.

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $66,000 per year
  • Starting Bonus Opportunity: Up to $16,000 annually based on agreed performance goals.
