About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Landscape Operations is responsible for assisting the Manager of Landscape Operations with landscape maintenance and contract management of sales paths, community buildings, subdivisions, commercial and residential landscape maintenance and community common area landscapes, roadway infrastructure and irrigation systems. This position is also responsible for the oversight of installation of residential irrigation and landscape packages, including contractor adherence to water management district and water supply regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance and/or installation required
  • 2+ years of experience in supervisory or equivalent leadership role preferred
  • Green Industry BMP or ability to obtain within 30 days required
  • FNGLA Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months required
  • Certified Pest Control Operator or similar license preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English and follow written and oral instructions
  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Microsoft Office Skills preferred
  • Ability to review and understand engineered drawings and landscape plans
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities through project management
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Must exhibit leadership, flexibility and responsibility and must have a positive attitude
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of office procedure and contract administration
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight of commercial and residential landscape maintenance contract compliance
  • Provides oversight of commercial and residential landscape construction contract compliance
  • Directs the progress of assigned projects including scheduling, permitting, construction, and quality control
  • Provide oversight for a variety of landscape and hardscape projects at one time
  • Consults with management to determine spatial and functional requirements for design review
  • Consistently displays company values and direction in public forums, resident and contractor discussions
  • Provides input of landscape site development and maintenance practices
  • Consults with peers or other employees to share guidance and expertise in the landscape, turf, and arboricultural field
  • Monitors contractor invoices within the scope of work and applicable budgets
  • Supports Resident Services to insure timely review and completion of service
  • Assists with enforcement of community standards
  • Assists in management of CDD landscape right of way and drainage retention area contracts
  • Assists in modification review and compliance
  • Oversight of community infrastructure standards and compliance including street signs, road conditions, retention pond maintenance, repairs and inspections
  • Responds to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, intercompany communication, and the community at large
  • Supports Sustainable Landscape Management Operation (SLM) by representing SLM and providing support and supervising crews, customer service and equipment for SLM in the absence of Manager of Landscape Operations
  • Provides customer and resident support as needed
  • Coordinates project layout and unified design for review and approval
  • Assists in development of cost estimates and scheduling
  • Provides assistance in the supervision of employees, contractors, and consultants on assigned projects
  • Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards
