About The Position

The Landscape Maintenance & Enhancement Supervisor is a field-based leadership role responsible for supporting the successful day-to-day operation of the landscape maintenance and enhancements department. This position combines field leadership, crew development, customer service, production oversight, and hands-on landscape work. The ideal candidate is an experienced landscape professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys developing others, communicates well with customers and team members, and is motivated to help grow a successful and efficient department. Success in this role means developing a capable and accountable field team, consistently delivering high-quality landscape services, building strong customer relationships, keeping crews and equipment prepared, and helping the department achieve its production and financial goals. The Supervisor should actively look for ways to improve people, processes, and performance while supporting the Department Manager in the long-term growth of the business.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in professional landscape maintenance, landscape installation, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop field employees.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and plant care.
  • Ability to identify common landscape plants, pests, diseases, and other plant health issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with department leadership and field teams.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to operate and maintain common landscape equipment and small engines.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, walk, stand, and push/pull equipment for extended periods, including up to 3 miles per day in the field, perform physically demanding landscape work and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana), criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical (where applicable) before starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, train, and coach field staff to uphold company standards, safety practices, quality expectations, and best practices.
  • Support Crew Leads with team development, daily priorities, and accountability.
  • Complete and oversee landscape maintenance and enhancement work, including pruning, mulching, weeding, cleanups, planting, and other landscape enhancements.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of plant care, plant identification, pest and disease identification, and common landscape issues.
  • Build strong customer relationships through attentive, personalized service.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding completed work, landscape conditions, recommendations, and additional needs.
  • Take ownership of departmental production and revenue goals while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Department Manager with budgeting, growth planning, and process improvements.
  • Support Crew Leads with daily preparation, including morning departures, evening load-out, and organization.
  • Ensure crews have the resources and information necessary to perform their work effectively.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and organization of small engines, trucks, trailers, tools, and other equipment.
  • Identify repair any maintenance needs and ensure they are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain an ownership culture of strong work ethic, professionalism, accountability and discipline through coaching, context and leading by example.
  • Reinforce safe work practices and company standards in the field, identify potential hazards or quality concerns, and hold team members accountable for maintaining a safe, professional, and high-quality work environment.
