About The Position

Fisher is seeking a Landscape Designer II with 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD, site design, grading, and ADA design. This role involves working on site development projects in Rochester, NY, contributing to parks, campuses, and municipal infrastructure. The position offers the opportunity to build technical depth and design responsibility within a collaborative environment, gain exposure to both small and large multidisciplinary projects, and grow toward licensure. The designer will work alongside civil and transportation engineers on grading, site layout, ADA details, and construction-ready documents for projects that shape Upstate New York communities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of landscape architecture experience.
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Progress toward landscape architecture licensure and interest in increasing design ownership.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Strong technical production, documentation, and task-management skills.
  • Clear written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to respond well to feedback.
  • Ownership of assigned work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing technical documents for small projects with increasing independence.
  • Familiarity with ADA requirements and practical implementation in project work.

Responsibilities

  • Produce technical documents and construction drawings for small projects.
  • Support the design and production of larger multidisciplinary projects.
  • Contribute to site design, grading plans, layout development, ADA implementation, and construction-ready documentation.
  • Coordinate design requirements with civil, transportation, planning, and other team members.
  • Conduct product and material research.
  • Develop practical design and product solutions and present them for consideration.
  • Apply office standard details and adapt them to project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain strong drawing organization and project file integrity.
