Requirements

  • Has or is working on obtaining a certificate or degree in landscape design or landscape architecture
  • Possess knowledge of Iowa horticulture
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in gardening, landscape design, construction, or related field is a plus
  • Canva AutoCAD, Dynacsape, UVision (or similar design programs) a plus
  • Knowledge in landscape construction methods and materials is a plus
  • Ability to create and read blueprints is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Document site conditions, measure properties, and draw accurate landscape plans using excellent graphics and lettering
  • Research relevant topics such as plants and their ability to survive in an area, outdoor living features, guidelines, building codes and other requirements
  • Demonstrate your familiarity with plants that will work in certain site conditions
  • Perform site analyses that include assessing existing plants, soil conditions, drainage & lighting
  • Prepare materials for client presentations, such as power points, pictures of design features, final drawings, proposals, etc
  • Complete drawings and other tasks in a timely manner to meet internal deadlines
  • Assist designer with site visits and meetings as needed
  • Assist with the installation process, such as acquiring materials, project layout and plant placement.
  • Perform post-installation tasks, such as landscape walkthroughs, periodic visual inspections of the property, etc
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth execution of the design-build process
