About The Position

The Landscape Coordinator works closely with the Landscape Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the landscape maintenance plan. This role involves managing contractors, overseeing installations, authorizing payments, and maintaining various aspects of the property's landscape, including irrigation, seasonal plantings, ponds, and road right-of-ways. The position also requires monitoring wildlife, assisting with emergency situations like tree removal during inclement weather, and addressing erosion and drainage issues. Collaboration with other departments and responding to property owner concerns are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • NPDES certificate or desire to obtain
  • Proven ability to work well with sub-contractors and vendors
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Positive people skills with ability to work with others and/or independently
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • General horticultural knowledge, including the ability to identify plants, trees, and flowers
  • Must be able to undertake projects from start to finish
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent public interaction and communication skills
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with a good record
  • Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, bend, stretch up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Landscape Manager to ensure overall landscape maintenance plan is properly implemented
  • Works closely with landscape maintenance and enhancement contractors
  • Works within approved ROA and LCA Budgets
  • Supervises contractors installing landscaping, irrigation, and other related services
  • Authorizes payment for services and goods provided within budget guidelines
  • Monitors irrigation schedules in an effort to maintain a quality landscape product
  • Implements seasonal color plantings and oversees maintenance activities at all ROA/Club locations
  • Assists pine straw vendors with coordination of schedules and budgets related to the annual contract
  • Obtains bids and oversees tree work on all ROA properties
  • Monitors wildlife population and plans, assists with control measures
  • Assists with emergency tree removal 24/7 and keeping roads clear during inclement weather
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of ROA ponds
  • Repairs road right of ways after utility work and other damage
  • Inspects roads, pedestrian trails, and infrastructures for hazards
  • Identifies and implements improved controls over erosion and landscape drainage
  • Works closely with other departments on additional landscaping needs, providing plans and installation when needed
  • Investigates property owner concerns as requested and implements solutions when possible
  • Performs job responsibilities and operates equipment according to the company safety and training programs
  • Reports safety or hazard concerns to management
  • Reports any on the job injury to management
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety every day
