Landscape Construction Crew Member Founded in 2011, DCPS is a commercial property services contractor providing services to over 1,100 clients. With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers. Position Summary The Landscape Construction Crew Member supports landscape construction projects by assisting with installation, site preparation, and material handling. This role works closely with crew leaders and field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and company standards.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in landscape construction or a related field
- Basic knowledge of hardscape installation, grading, and planting techniques
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability
Nice To Haves
- Experience with irrigation systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Experience with paver installation, retaining walls, and site grading
- Familiarity with landscape construction equipment and tools
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of landscape construction features including patios, retaining walls, walkways, and outdoor structures
- Prepare job sites by performing grading, trenching, and installation of soil, base materials, and aggregates
- Install trees, shrubs, and plant materials according to project plans and specifications
- Support installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of irrigation systems
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
- Assist with layout and measurements under supervision to ensure accurate installation
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout all phases of construction
- Follow all company safety policies and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Communicate effectively with crew leaders and team members to support workflow and productivity
- Monitor work areas for hazards and report safety concerns to supervisors
- Adapt to changing jobsite conditions and assist with a variety of tasks as needed
- Support snow operations during winter season as required
