A Landscape Care Team Leader is an experienced team member responsible for directing a team of two or more individuals. This role requires proficiency in operating various equipment, strong horticultural knowledge, and expertise in lighting, water gardens, and irrigation systems.

Requirements

  • A high school degree or GED is required
  • Two years of documented experience in the green industry
  • Must have great verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to use Apple technology for time tracking and job management
  • Must have great analytical problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with clients and professionals
  • Ability to use Google translate efficiently to communicate with Spanish speaking workers
  • Ability to drive truck & trailer combinations
  • Maintain a neat and clean professional appearance
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • VDACS Registered Tech Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • NALP Landscape Technician Cert. - Landscape Install & Irrigation
  • VCH (Skilled)

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing job notes for clear understanding of scope of work to be performed on daily basis
  • Plan daily tasks, labor, and equipment for current and next day’s work
  • Read, measure, and interpret landscape plans
  • Mix and apply various pesticides using proper PPE and application techniques
  • Lead team members performing landscape services including bed maintenance, pruning, plant health care, irrigation, water features, lighting, floral services, spring clean-ups, blowing, and snow removal
  • Operates small and medium duty tools and equipment
  • Identifies enhancement ideas to improve client property and submits via issue tickets
  • Learns and has a working knowledge of all properties, responsibilities and knows limits of work
  • Responsible for training and coaching a team of two or more team members to help develop their skills & ensure team members receive proper training
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient job site and ensure truck/tools/equipment are properly maintained
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed on schedule and budget to quality standard
  • Responsible for all tools being returned to the shop at the end of a workday and tagging any tools needing repairs
  • Perform daily check-ins with Group Leader by 3:00 PM to discuss current project status and equipment needs for the following day
  • Works as a team member throughout Southern Landscape Group with a positive attitude
