About The Position

This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in landscape architecture projects, covering planning, design, and presentation. The intern will work closely with the Design Team, assisting with drafting, rendering, site surveys, and client presentations. This role involves supporting workflows in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 3D modeling programs, participating in site visits, documenting project details, and supporting project teams with planning and design tasks. The intern will be expected to maintain high-quality standards, participate in meetings, and adhere to company policies and work standards, all while learning the processes that contribute to project success.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related design field.
  • Understanding of landscape terminology, plant materials, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Moderate proficiency in Photoshop and 3D modeling programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in site visits and travel to project locations as needed.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain high-quality standards in all work.
  • Eagerness to learn from mentorship and actively contribute to real-world landscape architecture projects.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting landscape architecture projects' planning, design, and presentation.
  • Work closely with the Design Team, assisting with drafting, rendering, site surveys, and client presentations.
  • Support workflows in AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D modeling programs, and other design tools.
  • Participate in site visits and walkthroughs to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Document project details.
  • Support project teams with planning and design tasks.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for all work.
  • Participate in departmental and training meetings.
  • Adhere to all Benesch policies, procedures, and work standards.
