About The Position

The Land Nutrient Specialist helps oversee the organization’s environmental performance and ensures farms are operating sustainably while also complying with State & Federal environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and process data and develop recommendations and action plans
  • Occasional travel is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • About 70% of this job is office and 30% is field time

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or 4 year degree in an agricultural related field
  • Skill in using computers, Microsoft Office, and mapping software to manage databases (GIS)
  • General agriculture knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and administer manure management plans
  • Discuss manure plan requirements to farmers, customers, manure applicators, and other necessary individuals
  • Maintain databases of information pertaining to the manure plans and soil samples
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating manure application including record keeping
  • Ensure farm environmental record keeping is maintained across numerous states
  • Conduct periodic farm visits to ensure environmental compliance is followed
  • Monitor mortality management and troubleshoot issues
  • Understand and ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols
