Land Agent - Right-of-Way & Energy Infrastructure
About The Position
Volta is seeking experienced Land Agents to support land acquisition and right-of-way activities across the energy and infrastructure sectors. The role involves landowner negotiations, easement acquisition, title research, and project coordination, with an emphasis on professionalism, accuracy, and results. Land Agents conduct acquisition and right-of-way work for energy and infrastructure projects, coordinate with project managers, title professionals, and other stakeholders, and help address land, title, and access-related challenges. The position requires travel as needed for project assignments. A college degree is not required; relevant industry experience is highly valued.
Requirements
- Prior experience in land acquisition, right-of-way, or related infrastructure projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel as required by project assignments.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oil and gas, electric transmission and distribution, renewable energy (solar and wind), battery energy storage systems (BESS), or utilities and infrastructure.
- Relevant industry experience; a college degree is not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct land acquisition and right-of-way activities for energy and infrastructure projects.
- Negotiate easements, access agreements, and other land-related agreements.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with landowners and project stakeholders.
- Review property records, title documentation, surveys, and legal descriptions.
- Coordinate with project managers, title professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, track acquisition progress, and provide timely project updates.
- Identify and assist in resolving land, title, and access-related challenges.
