About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lampist in Washington, DC. The Lampist will perform the repair, replacement and maintenance of lamps and Ballasts in ceilings and walls. In addition, assist other classifications in the performance of trade work. This position reports directly to the Deputy Project Manager. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Requirements

High School Diploma
2 years of building maintenance experience
Experience with performing efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of lighting systems including lighting, lamps, ballasts and minor electrical.
Compliance with all life safety and OSHA requirements.
Ability to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12)

Responsibilities

Performing efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of lighting systems.
Maintaining lighting, lamps, ballasts and minor electrical systems.
Performing preventative maintenance (PM) of lighting, exit signs and emergency lights, etc.
Supporting engineers and maintenance mechanics as needed.
Receiving work assignments, planning work, and obtaining necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
Completing paperwork in a timely manner.
Demonstrating knowledge of equipment and employing service procedures and techniques.
Operating all equipment, power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Maintaining assigned equipment and tools.
Keeping shop, equipment rooms, related mechanical areas, and common areas clean, organized, and safe.
Inspecting all areas of the building(s) and reporting deficiencies and suggestions for improvement.
Projecting a positive appearance and attitude, demonstrating exemplary tenant relations, team spirit, and respect for others.
Serving on various shifts and occasionally working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Performing other duties as assigned.
