About The Position

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a General Maintenance Worker (GMW) in Washington, DC. The GMW is responsible for performing efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems. Building systems include HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, hardware.

Requirements

High School Diploma/ or equivalent
2 years of building maintenance experience.
Must be able to acquire a CFC Universal
Must be able to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12)

Responsibilities

Performing efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and hardware.
Receiving work assignments, planning work, and obtaining necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
Completing paperwork in a timely manner.
Demonstrating knowledge of equipment and employing service procedures and techniques.
Possessing knowledge of safe and efficient operation of all equipment, power and hand tools.
Maintaining assigned equipment and tools.
Keeping shop, equipment rooms, related mechanical areas, and common areas clean, organized, and safe.
Inspecting all areas of the building(s) and reporting deficiencies and suggestions for improvement.
Projecting a positive appearance and attitude, demonstrating exemplary tenant relations, team spirit, and respect for others.
Serving on various shifts and occasionally working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Performing other duties as assigned.
