About The Position

This position is located at the Fort Huachuca Army Base. The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of facilities and equipment. This includes conducting routine inspections, responding to maintenance requests, and troubleshooting/repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. The role utilizes computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and documenting tasks. Additionally, the position involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining accurate records, supervising external contractors, and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and practices
• Plumbing skills
• Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
• Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment using logical problem-solving techniques
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Must be able to successfully pass a federal background screening and drug test
• Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of facilities and equipment

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems

• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from staff and tenants
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and materials used
• Supervise and coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs or projects
• Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide maintenance activities
