About The Position

Assists in setting up and operating a machine that combines two or more layers of film, foil, or paper by extrusion or adhesives to produce laminated flexible packaging materials.

Responsibilities

• Obtain the production order, determine specifications for the job, and arrange delivery of base materials to the machine.
• Load print rolls and base films or other materials onto unwind stands.
• Perform basic quality checks on films.
• Mix primers according to prescribed formulas and maintain adequate levels in reservoirs.
• Transfer hazardous waste into designated drums and transport it to storage areas.
• Apply tape to the resin roller to prevent extrusion from sticking; adjust web guide sensors and trim knives as required.
• Check poly/adhesive applications and install anilox rollers.
• Set brake control pressures and thread webs through the machine, lapping and taping the ends around the take-up core.
• Remove finished laminated rolls from the rewind using a hoist or walk-around lift, transport them to floor scales, record weights, footage count, time, and other information on the roll ticket, and transfer rolls to designated storage areas.
• Assist the operator with job changes as prescribed.
• Maintain work areas and related equipment in neat and orderly condition by sweeping, dusting, mopping, or scraping with appropriate tools and agents.
• Perform other related work as required.
