Requirements

  • Terminal Degree (PhD, MD, etc.) in Nursing required
  • 2+ years experience facilitating research activities. required
  • Previous research experience in clinical or basic sciences research and familiarity with research protocols, questionnaires and written or phone surveys. required
  • Demonstrated expertise in nursing practice, education, and research.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate clearly and concisely in a clinical research and office setting.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of an evidence based culture and projects. Provide education and mentoring.
  • Oversees the maintenance and development of Synergy tools for provision of patient care/care planning and staff.
  • Supports the Pediatric Nursing Research Consortium research platform.
  • Develops research protocols.
  • Conducts independent research in content and clinical areas of interest/expertise.
  • Seeks research funding through grant applications for research projects and activities.
  • Fosters the development of an environment conducive to the conduct of inquiry; research and practice.
  • Disseminates findings through poster/oral presentations and manuscript submission through scholarly journals.
  • Promotes collaborative multidisciplinary research within Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and with outside healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
  • Supports institution’s efforts to improve quality care, linking research to improve patient outcomes.
  • Serves as the link between nursing research and practice.
  • Mentors advanced practice and pediatric nurses in research and evidence based projects that measure outcomes of practice changes and operational improvements.
  • Promotes, supports, and facilitates individuals engaging in research activities to advance research in practice: evidence-based practice, the conduct of research, research utilization, and dissemination of research results.
  • Consults with health care providers and/or patients/families as appropriate to promote evidence based outcomes. Documents in medical record as necessary/appropriate.
  • Provides education to health care providers and/or patients/families as appropriate to improve health care outcomes. Documents in medical record as necessary/appropriate.
