About The Position
ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 22-bed facility providing specialized care for critically ill and premature infants born as early as 22 weeks gestation. The NICU recently unveiled a comprehensive renovation emphasizing family-centered care, featuring fully equipped private rooms designed to accommodate families, including those with twins and triplets. The unit is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and support staff, offering services such as transport, lactation consultation, and post-discharge follow-up clinics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with plan to take IBCLC exam
- Basic Life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
Responsibilities
- Provides support to the mother in breastfeeding their infant.
- Provision of in and out patient breastfeeding education, support and care.
- Management of telephone triage of breastfeeding phone calls, breast pump rental/sales and nursing bra fitting/sales as well as presentation of prenatal breastfeeding classes.
