We are currently looking for a Temporary Part-Time Labourer to join our team in Newton, KS for a three-month period.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, weed trimmers, and other basic maintenance equipment.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures (training provided).
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, performing repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and empty trash throughout plant and office areas.
  • Service, clean and supply break room including appliances.
  • Service, clean and supply restrooms throughout plant and office areas.
  • Clean foundry floors by manually sweeping and running floor sweeper.
  • Clean office floors by manually sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
  • Blow down walls, lights and equipment with high pressured air.
  • Clean and polish furniture, walls and fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Notify managers concerning the need of major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Sweep sidewalks, entryways, and loading docks.
  • Pick up litter and debris around the plant grounds and parking areas.
  • Perform yard maintenance, including weed eating, trimming, and basic landscaping tasks.
  • Conduct minor painting and touch-up work on outdoor fixtures, barriers, and facility signage.
  • Assist in seasonal tasks such as snow removal or leaf clearing.
  • Maintain cleanliness in designated smoking areas and outdoor break zones.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies.
